It is great to be able to open our doors and welcome in our lovely customers again. We were so well supported by everyone when the whole shop had to move online during the first few months of the year. We delivered direct to your homes all around the area and enjoyed seeing so much of this beautiful county that we are lucky enough to live in.
When we were given our opening date we knew that we had A LOT of work ahead of us. The Crewkerne shop was a completely upside down, it had been turned into a (small) online warehouse, packing centre and home school/creche. Our first job was cleaning, tidying, repainting and creating new shelving from a pile of scaffolding planks. We were also having multiple deliveries a day, the boxes of lovely new stock were piling up and it all had to be checked off, coded, photographed and priced. We were busy sourcing new suppliers all while packing internet orders and delivering locally. We also had to make sure that everything was safe and Covid compliant for our customers. We enjoyed every second of it but we really didn't think that we would be ready to open on time!
But we did it! Everything started to come together and with a lot of blood, sweat, tears and late nights our little team arrived at one of the best parts of the job....putting all our amazing new stock out on display for you all to enjoy. We have gone with a Spring garden theme, its an oldie but a goodie with the chance to include lots of fresh flowers and plants, soft colours and vintage accessories such as old tin buckets, watering cans and our much loved weather beaten old shed door (come and have a look at it, its in our window). The shop window involved laying fresh turf and soil and planting Spring flowers. We added a woven hazel trellis filled with scarves and clay pots with herb and vegetable plants. We also spent a couple of hours painting the glass windows with flowers.
So welcome back everyone! A big thanks to you for all your support and help in keeping this independent family run shop doing what we love best in the town that we love. Team DP x
